Tom Hanks & Wife Rita Wilson Become Official Greek Citizens

Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson are now official Greek citizens. The prime minister of  Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced the news on Instagram over the weekend.

Mitsotakis wrote, “@ritawilson @tomhanks are now proud Greek citizens! 🇬🇷”  The couple stood holding their new passports.

Last year Hanks and Wilson became honorary citizens of the country after Hanks was thanked for his help in raising awareness for the fires in 2018 that destroyed areas near Athens and killed more than 100 people.

On January 2, Hanks tweeted, “Starting 2020 as an Honorary citizen of all of Greece! Kronia pola! ( more or less, ‘happy year!’). Hanx.”

In December, Greek Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos told CNN, “Tom Hanks is a person who showed real interest in the people who suffered from the fire in Mati and promoted this issue in the global media.”

Wilson and Hanks have been known to vacation in Greece and even own property on the island of Antiparos. Wilson herself is part Greek and Hanks is a Greek Orthodox convert.

At the 2020 Golden Globe Awards, Hanks said, “I’ve been Hellenic now for the better part of 32 years. Greece is a haven… I’ve been around the world, I’ve been to the most beautiful places in the world, none of them tops Greece.” He added, “The land, the sky, the water, it’s good for the soul, it’s a healing place.”

A few months ago Hanks and his wife had tested positive for the coronavirus. Since they recovered, Hanks has made sure to remind fans to wear a mask. In early July, he told Today in an interview, “The idea of doing one’s part, though, should be so simple — wear a mask, social distance, wash your hands,” he said. “That alone means you are contributing to the betterment of your house, your work, your town, your society as a whole, and it’s such a small thing. It’s a mystery to me how somehow that has been wiped out of what should be ingrained in the behavior of us all.”

Chris Sullivan Says He's Running on 'Adrenaline and Pure Joy' After Welcoming First Child

It's an exciting time for Chris Sullivan, who became a dad for the first time amid quarantine. The This Is Us star and his wife, Rachel Reichard, welcomed a baby boy named Bear Maxwell this week -- and as he told ET's Keltie Knight, he's running on "adrenaline and pure joy."

While promoting his new song, "Divided," Sullivan shared that he and his wife have "gotten into a pretty good rhythm of getting each other to sleep and rest. And then we've got a little bit of help here at home...I'm still running on mostly adrenaline. Adrenaline and pure joy."

Sullivan added that, "in a lot of ways," quarantine was the "perfect time" for them to have a baby.

"We've been at home for the last four months and we've had a lot of time together," he noted, explaining that while he and his wife have been married for 10 years, "in the last four months, we've gotten to know each other in ways that are deeper and more connected than ever." They also had extra time to get the house ready for Bear's arrival. "We just felt very prepared and now there is no pressure to go anywhere. There is no pressure to do anything. I don't have to go back to work anytime soon."

"For all of the struggle that goes along with these times right now, that's a little bit of a blessing for the two of us," he expressed. "We're just resting and relaxing and really enjoying it."

As for how they came up with the name Bear, the actor explained that while his wife was pregnant she would have a recurring dream in which she was "visited by this polar bear -- and she doesn't really have recurring dreams a lot."

"It turns out that the bear is a symbol of awakening joy, and when we were thinking of names, it just came to her one day," he recalled. "She's like, 'What about Bear?' And I said, 'Oh, like your dream?' And she went, 'That's right, the dream.' And that was it. There were no other options."

Sullivan also praised Rachel, sharing that he was put in the "driver's seat" by the doctor and helped deliver their baby.

"I cannot tell you, to watch my wife labor for almost 20 hours and to watch her deliver this child, there's nothing else like it," he fawned. "It was so primal and powerful and intentional and she just, like, transformed before my eyes. I mean, I already love this woman so much and she's a warrior. It's incredible. Nothing compares to it!"

The actor's This Is Us family has already met little Bear, he shared. Sullivan also gave an update on the upcoming season.

"We had a family Zoom chat last night and I just received [the scripts for] episodes one and two," he revealed. "I, of course, have had no time to read them, but the rest of the cast says that they are off the charts. So I can't wait to read them!"

"[Creator] Dan [Fogelman] has been running the writers' room and trying to figure out how we're all gonna get back to work," he continued. "The writers have a good head start on all these stories and, yeah, it's gonna be a crazy season one way or the other!"

As far as what the next season will touch on, while he hasn't read the scripts, Sullivan said he knows the writers on the show have a "way of tapping into culture and into the average experience of people in this country in a way that no other group of people does."

"That's why people connect with our show, that's why they tune in, that's why they keep coming back," he noted. "So I have no doubt that our writers will, in some way, connect at least the emotional themes of what's going on in the world into our show, but again I gotta read one and two to figure out where we start."

As for his other "baby," his latest EDM single "Divided" with producer Shane Patterson, the former Broadway star said, "I have done music my whole life…I was a little scared. I was a little nervous to jump into an arena I haven't been in before. We recorded the sound and he mixed it and produced it, and it sounds awesome!"

The song's message is a poignant one right now, Sullivan expressed. "'Divided' is a word that can be used in all kinds of ways, whether it be socially, physically, mentally [or] politically. One of the reasons I agreed to do this song is it spoke to me."

"Quarantine has been, for a lot of people, a taxation on their emotional and mental state," he added. "The song is a lot about that feeling, like two different people feeling that push and pull of whether it's depression or anxiety or joy or like right now, I am divided between extreme joy and extreme exhaustion."

"It's just a banger," Sullivan said. "It's got a great beat and you can crank it up and just really connect with what Shane was trying to say."

Nicole Byer Would Like to Win An Emmy

This week's Emmy nominations included a lot of wonderful surprises, but none quite as delicious as the nod for Nicole Byer. The host of Nailed It (and many, many podcasts) is up for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program, alongside big names like RuPaul, Amy Poehler, Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio, and the entire casts of Queer Eye and Shark Tank.

She's also the first Black woman to ever be nominated in the category, a fact she says she found out from Wikipedia.

"I was like, 'I think I'm the first,' and it feels cool," she said with a big laugh. "It feels really f--king cool, to be honest. Also it's just like, God, I think 2008 is the first year they had the category, so it kinda sucks that it took 12 years."

Byer also just so happens to host what is probably the oddest reality show on the list, especially compared to the competition shows. Contestants on Nailed It—which is nominated for Outstanding Competition Program for the second year in a row—are almost never actually good at the fancy desserts they're trying to recreate. In fact, you could say they're all pretty terrible at them, especially under a time limit. But that's the beauty of the show.

"I think it's just like a silly show where we don't celebrate people who are perfect," she said. "Nobody on the show is perfect, and everyone's just like trying hard. And I think Instagram and social media and all that s--t is just like, everything's excellent. It's people showing you the best that we can do, and our show's like, you don't have to be the absolute best. You just have to be, like, kinda good and try."

Byer says she's definitely noticed an uptick in people watching during quarantine.

"It's just kind of nice that people can turn on the show and just forget about what's going on in the world," she said. "That's so cool to me."

Byer herself is a major part of why Nailed It works so well. She's not RuPaul levels of polished (though who among us is?), unable to keep a straight face when she eats bad cake and occasionally rolling around on the floor just for fun. She and head judge Jacques Torres love to call each other little nicknames, and her ability to pull a slightly inappropriate joke out of absolutely nowhere is unparalleled.

The show has a sort of messy, chaotic vibe that makes it, as Byer pointed out, a seriously delightful alternative to scrolling through Instagram or Pinterest or even to watching other food shows, where food doesn't even look like food, and where food isn't hilarious.

Some of the best, biggest laughs we've ever had have come from the final reveals on Nailed It, and from Byer's reactions to those reveals. It never fails to bring us joy, even as joy is getting harder to come by in the real world.

Byer has often said on her podcast Why Won't You Date Me? that 2020 was going to be her year. She still hasn't found someone to date her thanks to the global pandemic (though "the year is not over"), but an Emmy nom is a pretty good indication that she might have been right after all, even if this year's Emmys end up going virtual.

"It kinda sucks, not just that it might be a virtual ceremony, but also there's a lot of s--t going on in the world," she said. "But maybe if people wore masks, we would have had a summer and a nice fall."

Even if the Emmys do go virtual, there's at least one thing that will still be true.

"If I win, I get an Emmy!" Byer said.

Machine Gun Kelly Confirms Relationship With Megan Fox On Instagram

Machine Gun Kelly confirmed his romantic relationship with Megan Fox after weeks of speculation with an Instagram post.

The picture is a black-and-white mirror selfie with both Kelly and Fox sticking their tongues out. Kelly captioned the post, “waited for eternity to find you again."

Kelly and Fox did their first interview together last week on podcast Give Them Lala … with Randall hosted by Lala Kent and Randall Emmett. Fox spoke on their relationship, “I knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame. Instead of a soul mate, a twin flame is actually where a soul has like ascended to a high enough level that it can be split into two different bodies at the same time. So we’re actually two halves of the same soul, I think. And I said that to him almost immediately, because I felt it right away.”

The couple met on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass and were speculated to be in a relationship as it was revealed that Fox and her husband Brian Austin Green were separated.

Green announced the separation on his own podcast With Brian Green. He said, “She said, ‘I realized when I was out of the country working alone that I feel more like myself and I liked myself better during that experience and I think that might be something worth trying for me. I was shocked and I was upset about it, but I can’t be upset at her because she didn’t ask to feel that way. It wasn’t a choice she made, that’s the way she honestly felt. We talked about it a little more and said let’s separate for a bit… and so we did.”

Green went on to say that Fox did not cheat on him with Kelly. He stated, “I’ve never met him, but Megan and I talked about him and they’re friends at this point. And from what she’s expressed, he’s a really just nice, genuine guy. I trust her judgment. She’s always had really good judgment. I don’t want people to think that [they] are villains or I was a victim in any way with any of this — because I wasn’t.”

Uncharted: Tom Holland’s Movie Will Begin Filming Next Week. Know All About It

According to reports, Tom Holland’s most awaited film Uncharted will resume it’s shooting from next week. This movie is an adaptation of the beloved video game series.

It was just starting its principal photography in Berlin when the coronavirus pandemic hit. This stopped the production and led to the movie’s third delay. Uncharted was first delayed to October 2021, and now is pushed to release on July 2021.

What is Uncharted all about?

As an adaptation of the video game series Naughty Dog, Uncharted will see Holland stepping into the shoes of Nathan Drake. Nathan is a treasure hunter who travels the globe to hunt down the most sought after loot, often with the help of his friend and mentor, Sully. Mark Wahlberg will play the character of Sully in the film.

As per reports, the adaptation has had a bumpy ride in terms of its development, be it going through several directors, writers and incarnations before finally moving forward. After seeing the recent photo of the set posted by Holland, we can confirm that the delayed adaptation will be resuming filming very soon.

When will the movie resume it’s shooting?

According to THR, Sony’s Uncharted adaptation will be resuming filming next week in Germany on July 20. Also, the studio will be taking all the necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of the cast and crew members.

Proper social distancing, disinfection, and mask will be there on the sets. Although some other local productions have started filming, no scenes involving will be shot at this time.

Ruben Fleischer will direct the upcoming Uncharted adaptation after losing director Travis Knight. The scriptwriter of the film is Art Marcum and Matt Holloway.
Who are the cast members of Uncharted?

The cast members for the upcoming flick will be Holland, Sophia, Wahlberg, Tati Gabrielle, and Antonio Banderas. The film will be an origin story for Drake, with Holland playing a young version of the famous treasure hunter. Recently, Holland posted a picture revealing his physical transformation for his role as Drake.

Although the adaptation has run into a lot of problems while making it to production, it is comforting to see that the adjustment will finally be up for filming. The games are rich with great stories and characters. Also, Holland’s presence will give a particular shine to the role.

Will the film delay it’s shooting further?

It is also encouraging that the crew will be taking all the necessary health and safety precautions as production resumes. But, we all know by now that the coronavirus is highly unpredictable and can undoubtedly cause further delays. Still, it is exciting to hear that Uncharted will be moving with full steam from next week.

Insecure's Yvonne Orji Dishes On Her ''Special Moment'' With Issa Rae After Emmy Nominations

The latest season of Insecure may have divided viewers at home, but luckily the 2020 Emmys is Team Issa and Team Molly.

On Monday, July 28, Yvonne Orji earned an Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series nod for her performance as Molly—the character fans loved to hate. Season 4 of the HBO series explored what goes wrong (and what can go right) when a friendship reaches its breaking point. But while we'll have to wait for Molly and Issa (Issa Rae) to hash out their differences once and for all when Insecure returns for a fifth season, it's only right that Yvonne gets her time to shine.

E! News caught up with the actress and comedian moments after she found about the nomination. To learn the inside scoop on the cast's group chat, Yvonne's take on Molly and Issa's future and her plans to go "all out" for the Emmys ceremony, read below!

E!: Walk me through what your morning was like. Were you anticipating anything?

YO: I think everybody's hopeful. This season felt so different for a lot of different reasons, not only because everybody was stuck at home probably watching it. I was texting a couple of my co-stars, and then Issa's name got announced, so then all the screams and the dancing emojis were sent. And then the show got nominated and it was like, ‘Yes!" My publicist Sam called me and she was like, ‘Congratulations!' I'm like, ‘I know, this is a big win for everybody.' And she's like, ‘No, congratulations to you.' I'm like, ‘I know, I'm so happy to be part of the ensemble!' and she's like, ‘You got nominated!' And I'm like, ‘Like me? As an individual?' So then I started searching, and I'm like, ‘Oh my God. That's my name!' So it took me a little bit to realize, and then I started screaming, then I started dancing and then everything went blank.

E!: Insecure isn't new to the scene anymore, what's it like to get this nomination so far into the series?

YO: I think that's a testament to the writers and everybody involved. It's like wine. We get finer and finer. Every season just gets better and better, and I think people have seen that and we're grateful.

E!: Have you called or texted Issa this morning?

YO: Oh my God, yes. We had a moment and I thanked her. I was like, ‘Thank you for seeing something in me five years ago, for this moment. Thank you.' She was like, ‘Girl, we all did it.' It was a special moment. Batman and Robin. It's still really good.

E!: Issa and Molly grew apart this season. Where do you see that friendship going in Season 5?

YO: Man, I told Issa at the end of the season, ‘Can you never do that again?' Because I missed you. All the scenes we had together, we weren't really together, because of the Condola [Christina Elmore] aspect and then we were fighting. But we saw at the end of Season 4, they both were like, 'We gotta get our stuff together. We gotta be right.' So I'm hoping they really, really strengthen their relationship. Also we have fun, and sometimes fun is messy, so I'm sure we'll still be messy.

E!: Does it worry you then that you got the Emmy nomination for the season with all the friendship troubles, instead of the times when the friendship was stronger?

YO: We have a tethered friendship. I think [this season] really highlighted the nuances that go into relationships. Even if you think about people who were together in quarantine, whether you're in a marriage or whether you're in a roommate situation, this has been a total experiment, if you will, of how communication can break down a relationship. I think people are watching Issa and Molly figure out their relationship with it being a mirror for their own relationship. We've all experienced this pain, and I think so many people could relate to that, of all races. Even if you were like, 'I can't see myself as a Black person in South L.A.', you have these relationships though. You can see yourself as somebody who has a best friend and you're trying to figure out if this relationship will last.

E!: We don't know what the Emmys are going to be like this year, but have you thought about plans for at-home glam?

YO: I haven't thought about it yet, but I'm also very much Nigerian, so whatever I do, it's going to be over the top. We're those people, OK? I'm like, 'How do I get the helicopter to land me on a red carpet outside?' I don't know, but we gotta go all out. I know it looks different, but this is a celebration. This is a moment of Black joy, and I'm here for it.

The 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, air Sept. 20 on ABC.

Kim Kardashian Returns to L.A. After Emotional Visit With Kanye West in Wyoming

Kim Kardashian West is back home. The reality star and mother of four returned to Los Angeles on Tuesday after a somber reunion with husband Kanye West in Wyoming on Monday.

The 39-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star flew back alone. She was spotted after her plane touched down in L.A., in photos published by TMZ. The outlet reports that West stayed at the ranch in Cody, Wyoming, where he's been living and recording music.

Kardashian wore white sweatshirt and sweatpants and her hair in a tight bun as she exited the plane and made he way over to her SUV, which was waiting to pick her up, as seen in a video from The Daily Mail.

Kardashian's return home comes a day after she and West had a tearful meeting when she flew out to visit him. They were spotted having an impassioned conversation in the back of their SUV on Monday.

"Kim flew to Wyoming Monday to see Kanye after weeks of trying to get ahold of him and having him agree to see her," a source told ET. "The meeting was extremely emotional as the couple has a lot to work through now and most importantly making sure Kanye is healthy."

"Kim is still very upset with Kanye but she knows she needs to focus on him getting better," the source added. "Kim plans to do whatever she can to help Kanye get the help he needs."

The reunion marked the first time the pair had seen each other since West's controversial political rally in South Carolina and his subsequent Twitter storm of since-deleted comments about his wife and her family.

It also came one day after West made a public apology to his wife on Twitter, in which he said he regretted airing their private issues in public.

"I would like to apologize to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter. I did not cover her like she has covered me," the rapper tweeted on Saturday. "To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me. Thank you for always being there for me."

On Saturday, West was photographed arriving to a hospital near his ranch. He only stayed for about 10 minutes and then returned to his home, with an ambulance arriving to the property shortly after.

A source told ET that West went to the hospital because he was feeling anxious. According to the source, when West got to the hospital, he decided he would rather be seen at the ranch, which is why an ambulance came to the ranch. His vitals were checked, vital signs were found to be normal, and he felt better.

Although the two have been supportive of one another throughout the very public ups and downs during their marriage, another source told ET last week that they've been going in separate directions in the last few years.

"Kim and Kanye have grown apart and the couple is considering divorce," the source said at the time. "The two love each other unconditionally but have grown apart over the years and it's come to a point where it might be too far gone to save now."

"When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his 'little partner' - something that might've sounded strange without his southern cowboy like accent. To me it made perfect sense. And today that word makes perfect sense again but today I'm officially going to be someone else's partner," Demi captioned her Instagram announcement.

The bride-to-be continued, "@maxehrich - I knew I loved you the moment I met you. It was something I can't describe to anyone who hasn't experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. Romance rumors between Demi and The Young and the Restless alum first sparked in March when the pair exchanged flirty comments on social media.

E! News would later learn that they were social distancing together and "falling in love."

Kim Kardashian Reportedly ‘Furious’ At Kanye West For Talking About Daughter North At Campaign Rally

Kim Kardashian West is reportedly “furious” at her husband Kanye West for talking about their daughter North West at his recent campaign rally. West revealed that the couple considered getting an abortion after Kardashian West found out she was pregnant with North in 2013 when they were dating.

A source told People, “Kim is shocked that Kanye spoke about North at the rally. She is furious that he shared something so private.”

At the rally, West sobbed when retelling the story of the moment he found out Kardashian West was pregnant with North.

“In the Bible, it says, ‘Thou shall not kill,’” West said. “I remember that my girlfriend called me screaming and crying, and I was just thinking, because at that time I was a rapper I was out there, [had] different girlfriends and everything … and she said, ‘I’m pregnant.’ And I said, ‘Yes!’ And then I said, ‘Uh oh.’”

West continued saying, “She was crying … and for one month and two months and three months, we talked about her not having this child. She had the pills in her hand.”

West said God sent him a message to keep the child.

“I called my wife and she said, ‘We’re gonna have this baby,’ and I said ‘We’re gonna have this child,’” he said.

The sourced added that Kardashian West is most concerned about how her husband bringing their private life into the spotlight will affect their four children.

“She loves her kids tremendously and wants to protect them. Her favorite thing in the world is being a mom,” the source continued.

Another source opened up to People and explained that the couple’s relationship has recently gone downhill due to West’s behavior.

Earlier this month West announced his intention to run for president. That announcement coupled with his recent behavior has many in his inner circle worried about his mental health.

“Kanye has been doing well for a long time. In the past, he has suffered both manic and depressive episodes related to his bipolar disorder. Right now, he is struggling again,” a source told People.

West was hospitalized in November 2016 for a “psychiatric emergency” and he was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2018. Both the rapper and his wife have confirmed his diagnosis in previous interviews.

Jennifer Garner Tears Up While Looking Back On Her Kids' 'Year Full of Transitions'

Jennifer Garner is reflecting on how being in quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic has affected her children. The 48-year-old actress, who shares Violet, 14, Seraphina, 11, and Samuel, 8, with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, got emotional while discussing the topic during an Instagram Live session with yoga and meditation instructor Chelsea Jackson Roberts.

"I feel so lucky. I've been in the luckiest possible circumstance. I have a roof, I have food, I have health, and so does my family. So I have no complaints," Garner acknowledged, before turning her attention to her kids.

"I'm really thinking about my kids. And what their experience is going to be," she said.

While Garner noted that her children are "so lucky" to have access to the internet and "excellent teachers who can teach over Zoom," she also spoke about how the current world circumstances can be hard on them.

"That is a one in a million possibility in this world. And yet, it's also a depressing one," she said of her kids' privilege during this time. "What is this year full of transitions going to look like for kids? For my family? How can I keep joy in learning for them? Or help them just continue to find their resilience? And I think that's where I am today."

As the instructor praised Garner for her openness and thoughtful response, the actress took off her glasses to wipe away tears.

"I think it's easy to focus on how lucky you are, and that is true. And I do and I am," she said. "But you have to also let the other stuff be there at the same time, it has to coexist."

"It is heavy. It's heavy for everyone," Garner continued. "And it's just, how do kids in this world not just live in all this heaviness?"

The Old Guard: Will Booker Go Against His Allies?

Based on the comic of the same name, The Old Guard is another movie with immortals. This Netflix original is full of exciting adventures. This action-thriller ends with a slight emotional turn. The ending left its viewers with many questions about one of the members of the group.

The movie is about a team of immortals who have found each other throughout the centuries. The members of the group are Andy, Joe, Nicky, and Booker. They all have unique abilities to heal themselves. A former CIA operative, Copley, hires them to rescue kidnapped children in South Sudan. However, some mercenaries attack them which Copley set up. Meanwhile, they also discover a new immortal, Nile. Now they have to protect her from the rest of the world and also keep their identity a secret.

After Booker’s betrayal, the rest of the team decides his fate. Andy tells him that he will not make any contact with any other member for a full century. She also mentioned that they’d meet again at the same place. We also get to know that Copley is going to declare her dead so her family won’t worry about her more.

The rest of the team visits Copley’s office. There they discover that the former CIA agent has found the reason behind their immortality and healing power. As we already know that Andy is no longer immortal, she discusses how things will happen in the future. Now Copley must remove all the traces of their existence and fight appropriate missions for them.

In the last scene, we see a drunken Booker in Paris. As he arrives at his room, he senses someone’s presence in the room. Although he’s drunk, he is still alert and takes his gun out and finds a mysterious woman inside. We see none other than Quynh inside his room.

Back in the past, we know that Quynh and Andy were the only immortals. Her ability to heal instantly was viewed as witchcraft by other people. She was sentenced to be locked in a tomb in the oceans. Andy spent years looking for her, but her search was fruitless, and ultimately she ends her search.

Of course, the reveal of Quynh, in the end, was shocking. Everyone’s curious to know how and when she managed to escape her underwater prison. As she appears after such a long time, we didn’t get to know about her real emotions towards Andy and the rest of the members. We hope that all these bits and pieces will be answered in The Old Guard.

Burger Boogaloo Fest Severs Ties With Burger Records Amid Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Burger Boogaloo, the independently-produced festival organized by Oakland, California’s Total Trash Productions, is severing ties with longtime partner Burger Records. In a statement posted on the festival’s website, it cited recent sexual misconduct allegations against Burger Records’ artists and employees.

“In light of the recent allegations against Burger Records and several of the bands on their label, Total Trash Productions has made the decision to end our long-standing partnership with Burger Records. We want to express our heartfelt support for the brave women who have come forward to share their stories,” the statement reads. “We also want to sincerely apologize to anyone who has ever been victimized or harassed at any of our events. As the organizers of Burger Boogaloo, we accept responsibility for what happens at the event, and while we have always worked to take swift actions in removing individuals from the event or our line-up who have acted violent or inappropriate, we know that we can always do better. We owe that to our fans and our community.”

Last weekend, a series of anonymous sexual misconduct allegations against various Burger Records’ artists and employees surfaced. In the wake of the news, Burger Records cofounder Lee Rickard resigned and fellow cofounder Sean Bohrman moved into a “transitional” role to assist interim president Jessa Zapor-Gray before Borhman eventually steps down. The label has announced it will be rebranding as BRGR RECS and will launch an all-women imprint called BRGRGRRRL.

In its statement, Total Trash Productions said they hired Burger Records to promote the festival after becoming acquainted with the label while booking tours for the label’s bands. “While we personally had an overall positive experience in working with Burger Records, and had no knowledge of the allegations that came out this week, we understand that there are many young women and others who have suffered traumatic experiences at the hands of certain bands and individuals associated with Burger Records,” the statement continued. “We are disturbed and disgusted by the allegations that have come out, and we stand with the survivors.”

Burger Boogaloo, which Total Trash Productions said it will rename, will “continue solely as a Total Trash Production.” Beyond the name change, organizers plan to employ additional safety measures for its attendees.

“This includes working on ways to make it easier for people to report abuse they experience or witness at our events so that we can act more swiftly in removing offenders and reporting them to the proper authorities, creating a stricter vetting process for bands and individuals on bands’ guestlists, further restricting backstage access and employing more security, continuing to diversify our line-ups with more acts that include women, LGBTQ and BIPOC, and working with local groups in our area to learn about actions we can take to help victims of sexual assault,” Total Trash Productions added. “These are just a few of the ideas we are currently discussing.” Read Total Trash Productions’ full statement.

Jamie Lynn Spears Defends Sister Britney From Comments About Her Mental Health

Jamie Lynn Spears made it clear that she will never discuss Britney Spears' mental health without her sister's permission.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Zoey 101 star shared a screenshot of a statement from Halsey, which called for "sympathy" towards those who struggle with mental health issues, especially bipolar disorder. She captioned the post, "If you deal with mental illness or care for someone dealing with mental illness, then you know how important it is to respect the situation with privacy for the person, and the family trying to protect their loved ones, no matter how it may appear to the public, and as the public we must learn to do the same."

Many assumed that Jamie was making reference to her older sister, with one critic asking, "How about your sisters [sic] OBVIOUS mental illness? Why don't you speak on that?"

In response, Jamie Lynn fired back. According to screenshots shared by Comments by Celebs, she wrote, "You have no right to assume anything about my sister, and I have NO right to speak about HER health and personal matters. She is a strong, badass, unstoppable woman, and that's the only thing that is OBVIOUS."

She explained in another response, captured by Just Jared, "I would never speak out just to clarify things to the public, when the person it pertains to does not want that to happen. I'd rather take all the hate, then speak about someone elses [sic] personal matter, that they want to keep private."

Over a year has passed since Britney received treatment at a mental health facility in Los Angeles. She has said very little of the time she spent away from the spotlight, but a source previously told E! News, "Britney expressed that treatment helped her slow down and focus on her health with less distractions and she needed the 'me time'."

Nowadays, the star appears to spend much of her time working out or dancing in her palatial Thousand Oaks estate. The mother of two frequently posts videos of herself breaking a sweat, which has drawn some criticism from her followers. But Britney has previously said of these critics, "I get how some people might not like my posts or even understand them, but this is Me being happy... This is Me being authentic and as real as it gets!"

Britney currently remains under a conservatorship, which went into effect in 2008 after the pop star suffered a public breakdown. However, this is set to be reviewed in a virtual court hearing this Wednesday.

Katy Perry Says She Buried the Hatchet with Taylor Swift As An ‘Example of Redemption’ for Young Girls

Katy Perry is giving fans further insight into her once rocky relationship with fellow songstress Taylor Swift. In a new interview with Howard Stern, Perry shared how the two put their conflict behind them in a bid to set an example to young women. She added that the pair now discuss “the best we want for each other."

"Gossip and lies, they take the elevator. But truth takes the stairs ... time will tell my story," Perry, 35, said while discussing the past feud. "What I'm so grateful for is that we did get to make up and we made up publicly to be an example of redemption."

“It's hard for young girls, growing up [with] cliques and high school and pettiness and all that stuff, so now we're super friendly and I've always wanted the best for her and we can talk about the best we want for each other," she continued.

The two put their highly-publicized differences aside when Perry made a surprise appearance in Swift’s 2018 music video for “You Need to Calm Down.”

These days, Perry has bigger things on her plate -- she’s preparing to give birth to her first child, a baby girl, with Lord of the Rings star, Orlando Bloom.

She’s also about to drop her new record, Smile, on Aug. 14, and candidly discussed how she battled depression while making the new music.

"It was more than I had ever faced in my life,” she said. “I'd had bouts of depression before, but I had been able to avoid falling into the really dark depression by making music. It's like all these things you do to distract -- you eat, you work you get a new boyfriend, you shop."

"I was so ashamed about being on medication because I was like... 'I wrote 'Firework,’” she added, about her uplifting, motivational 2017 hit. “But it was one of those things where I'd sprained my brain a little bit."

Perry credited Bloom, 43, for supporting her through all the ups and downs of her mental health struggles, which saw her contemplate suicide at one point.

Bloom accompanied her to a week-long stay at the Hoffman Institute, which she said focuses on, “re-wiring of your neural pathways through psychological and spiritual exercises.”

She said the actor has also been tolerant and understanding of her moods. "He's the only one that could handle it and that's why we're in this position," she told Stern. "I showed him all of it. And I still test him and he still shows up and he still is not phased by it and that's why he is perfect for me -- because I'm a lot!"

Danica Patrick Shares Thought-Provoking Posts About Relationships After Aaron Rodgers Split

Danica Patrick has taken some time to reflect.

The 38-year-old star and former professional racecar driver shared deep and thought-provoking quotes about relationships on her Instagram Stories on Saturday. The timing of her posts were also interesting, as it came one day after news broke that she and Aaron Rodgers split.

"Look at the chosen relationship in your life and notice any themes," Danica's post read, which was a quote by Vienna Pharaon, a licensed marriage and family therapist.

"What role do you play? Who are you with them? Who do you believe you need to be? What stories do you tell yourself about what they can offer you? What can they or can't they handle," the message continued. "The way you choose people may offer you insight into what you're craving or what shifts you may need to make in order to shift an overworked role you've held for a long time."

The 38-year-old star also shared another insightful quote by relationship coach Connor Beaton.

"The pain that we are given is the pain that we pass on," the quote read.

At this time, both Instagram Stories have since expired. However, on Sunday, Danica uploaded a photo of her dogs with the caption, "Ella wanted to give you all a Sunday smile."

On Friday, news broke that Danica and the 36-year-old NFL player decided to call it quits after nearly two years together. They began dating in the fall of 2017, and made their romance officially official after they packed on the PDA at the 2018 Daytona race track.

While the duo has yet to publicly announce their breakup, a rep for the retired NASCAR driver confirmed to E! News that they are "no longer together."

The pair's breakup comes as a surprise to fans, especially after rumors swirled that the Green Bay Packers quarterback was getting ready to propose. According to Variety, the athletes were already living together in the NFL star's home in Malibu, Calif.

Back in March, a source told E! News, "Aaron is planning to propose, 100 percent, for sure... It's not a matter of if, but when."

"He's become less private about his relationship because he's really proud to have her by his side," the source shared at the time. "They are completely smitten and committed to each other, and they're in it for the long haul."

However, all good things must come to an end. And it looks like the duo decided it was best to go their separate ways.

Useful Idiots: Thomas Chatterton Williams on the Open Letter on Cancel Culture

In this week’s quarantine episode of our Useful Idiots podcast, hosts Matt Taibbi and Katie Halper are joined by journalist Thomas Chatterton Williams, who was instrumental in the recent Harper’s open letter.

Our hosts break down the discrepancies in CNN analyses of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo — from Jake Tapper on one side, and the Governor’s brother Chris Cuomo on the other — and, of course, the instant-classic Cuomo COVID-19 poster is on the table.

“Andrew Cuomo almost always gets a pass from his brother, ‘Fredo’ Cuomo, well his name really is Chris Cuomo, but let’s call him Chris ‘Fredo’ Cuomo. So this is a rare occasion where CNN actually is critical of Andrew Cuomo, and I think Jake Tapper really nails it,” says Katie, referring to a recent Jake Tapper segment on Governor Cuomo’s self-congratulatory poster. “[Chris is] probably going to threaten Jake.”

“It’s CNN-on-CNN crime,” says Matt. “We love it. We’d love to see more of it.”

Katie and Matt also give a requiem for former U.S. Attorney General and Senator Jeff Sessions, after his recent primary loss in Alabama.

In the big media news of the week, our hosts discuss the self-canceling and departure of opinion editor Bari Weiss from the New York Times, and the ongoing conversation in media circles about “cancel culture” and free speech.

“What makes Bari Weiss presenting herself as a victim of censorship or mob mentality kind of ironic and problematic is that she herself, when she was a student at Columbia University, really did a lot to smear certain professors as anti-Semites,” Katie explains.

Matt points to the lack of intellectual diversity in mainstream media companies. “Forget about whether it’s Bari Weiss or Brett Stephens or whoever, if basically your op-ed page is a whole bunch of people who agree with each other, and Ross Douthat, right? The loser there is the rest of the staff and the readers of the New York Times,” says Matt. “You’re going to end up getting a picture of the world that’s incomplete, and the paper is going to suck because it’s not going to be able to see what the rest of the world is thinking. They’ve already proven that that’s the case.”

Thomas Chatterton Williams join Katie and Matt, allowing the show to really lean in to the subject of intellectual diversity in journalism. Williams, along with several colleagues, drafted the Harper’s open letter, solicited the signatories, and is now in the middle of an international debate over it. “He’s literally sitting at ground zero of this whole controversy,” says Matt.

Williams discusses the reasoning and decision-making that went into to the letter, and who was asked to sign it. He also opines on the overarching goal of putting it out.

“Everyone’s like, ‘Oh, this is what I’ve been talking about in my private texts.’ Their group chats. Now people are talking about it openly,” says Williams. “We probably always have had things that are beyond the pale, that cross a line. We’re collectively trying to figure out where our lines are now, and to try to make whatever we’re doing to enforce quickly-developing norms on the fly. W’re trying to make it more and more fair.”

Williams describes the variety of reactions the letter has received, and the intensity of the criticism — as well as the vindication. “I’ve taken an enormous amount of abuse,” Williams admits. “Lots of us have had negative experiences in the last week or more with this letter, but ultimately those individual negative experiences pale in comparison to what I think has been collectively healthy.”

Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge finally explains that big Hot Priest twist

Fleabag founder and lead star Phoebe Waller-Bridge have shown why popular season 2 character The Priest — The Hot Priest as many lovers have dubbed him — is in a position to break the fourth wall as Fleabag can.

No other personality do so or even notices she does although fleabag often looks in and speaks directly to the camera during the show.

But he not only when The Priest arrives on the scene calls her out on the fact that she appears to be talking to someone but he looks into the camera and yells.

Speaking during The Making of Fleabag, as a part of BAFTA Television: The Sessions, Waller-Bridge revealed that she wanted Fleabag’s relationship with the camera and the audience to be mirrored by The Priest’s connection with God — since both characters constantly feel as though they are being watched by an existence they want to describe themselves to.

“[Fleabag] includes a connection with the camera the entire way through and it was interesting to have someone that has a similar item,” she explained. “He is mirrored case he has God. For her is whether or not she can give up the camera, and she is witnessed from the camera the way through and in the long run, the major issue.

“And he’s seen by God the whole time and is always needing to check to that the entire time. And in the end, he’s the same question, so that I just felt as though it’d be a really good way to mirror each other’s journeys.”

Their journeys do wind up leading them while end his relationship and The Priest chooses to stay in the priesthood as Fleabag chooses to literally wave farewell to the camera and therefore the presence viewing her.

The actress and author, who’s also worked on Killing Eve and the hottest James Bond film No Time To Die, also said that she doesn’t think Fleabag is speaking to anyone in particular when she breaks down the fourth wall but is instead attempting to discover some type of validation.

“I felt like it was symbolic of something I can’t explain… I feel as though it’s that anxiety about being watched and feeling observed and feeling as if you’re not being viewed, does exactly what you are doing count for anything, does it matter?” She explained. “She is always grappling with this need for the viewer to be there, to validate her, and to leave her alone so she can experience things on her own.”

Waller-Bridge has said many times that she is planning a run of this critically-acclaimed comedy-drama, but she has admitted she could be tempted to revisit in life.

“When I’m 50, maybe, when you know there has been a life lived and it is another face looking down the barrel,” she explained.
