Realme V5 has launched in China as the latest offering from the smartphone company. The device comes with a hole-punch display and a quad camera setup at the back with a 48-megapixel main camera. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery with 30W flash charge and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC. The phone has a USB Type-C port and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone is up for pre-booking in China, and the sale will begin on August 7.

Realme V5 is priced in China at CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs. 15,000) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model. There is also an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model priced at CNY 1,899 (roughly Rs. 20,400). The sale of the device will begin on August 7, and pre-booking has already begun on the company site. Pre-booking offers include free earphones and half-year extended warranty. The Realme V5 has launched in three gradient finishes – Silver Winged Boy, Blue, and Breaking Light colour options.

The dual-SIM (Nano+Nano) Realme V5 runs on Realme UI-based Android 10 software. The phone features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixels) hole-punch display with 90.7 percent screen-to-body ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 720 octa-core processor with 2GHz frequency paired with up to 8GB RAM. Internal UFS 2.1 storage is listed to be at 128GB.

The quad camera setup on the Realme V5 includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 79.8 degree field of view. There is another 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera with f/2.3 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Front camera features include 16-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.1 aperture. The Realme V5 packs a 5,000mAh battery with 30W flash charging. The company says that three minutes of charging will enable five hours of music playback. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, USB Type-C, Bluetooth v5, 3.5mm audio jack, 5G, more. Dimensions are listed to be at 162.13x75.02x9.1mm and the phone weighs 194 grams. There is a side-fingerprint sensor on board, and sensors on board include geomagnetic sensor, light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope, and accelerometer.

OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 6 Start Receiving OxygenOS 10.3.5 With July Security Patch, OnePlus Buds Support, More

OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6 are now receiving the OxygenOS 10.3.5 update, bringing support for the OnePlus Buds amongst other changes. The update also contains the July 2020 Android security patch, and integration with the recently launched OnePlus Buds. The update was announced on the OnePlus community forum and has started rolling out to select users.

OnePlus announced on its forum that the OxygenOS 10.3.5 update will have a staged rollout so not all OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6 users will receive it right away. OnePlus said that the OTA would be available for a limited number of users initially, and would branch out in a few days after making sure there were no critical bugs. The update is around 250MB to download.

The changelog for the system includes the crash issue while browsing on Chrome being fixed, along with the black screen issue while opening logkit. The July 2020 updated security patch will be available in OxygenOS 10.3.5, while the GMS package will be updated to May 2020.

Motorola Moto G9 Plus smartphone appears to have passed the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification. The listing also reveals some key information, like the battery, of the smartphone with model number XT2087-1. As per the document, the phone will come equipped with a battery with the MG50 model number. As per Danish certification database, this particular battery model is said to have a 4,700mAh rated capacity. This essentially confirms the previous report which claimed the phone will house a 4,700mAh battery.

As per the FCC listing, first spotted by Dealntech, the Moto G9 Plus has charger model numbers as SC-301/ SC-302/ SC-303/ SC-305/ SC-306/ SC-307/ SC-309 (the last digit represents different regions). A phone with model number XT2087-1 (along with XT2087-2) has already been spotted on TUV Rheinland Japan's website. This listing suggested that the smartphone will have 30W fast charging support, however, it did not mention the capacity of the charger that will be bundled with the handset.

Moreover, the smartphones with XT2087-1 and XT2087-2 model numbers were also mentioned in an EEC listing that was published last month, and was independently verified by Gadgets 360. For those unaware, the alleged Moto G9 Plus was also seen listed on Spanish online retailer ParatuPC, with a price tag of EUR 277.15 (roughly Rs. 24,000) for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Since there's a mention of two model numbers, it is highly likely that there is another variant in the offing.

Now that the alleged Moto G9 Plus has reportedly got a green from a few major certifications authorities, it means that the smartphone may be launched soon. Motorola, however, has not shared any information in this regard. Recently, Motorola launched the Moto G 5G Plus with a 5,000mAh battery and 20W TurboPower charging, in Europe.

Twitter Hack: US Teen Accused of Masterminding Bitcoin Scam Attack That Hit Obama, Musk

A 17-year-old Florida boy masterminded the hacking of celebrity accounts on Twitter, including those of US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk, officials said on Friday. A 19-year-old British man and a 22-year-old man in Orlando, Florida were also charged under US federal law with aiding the attack, the Justice Department said.

A Florida prosecutor identified the 17-year-old as Graham Clark of Tampa and charged him as an adult with 30 felony counts of fraud. Clark netted at least $100,000 from the scheme by using the celebrity accounts to solicit investments from unsuspecting Twitter users, state officials said.

"He's a 17-year-old kid who just graduated from high school," said Florida State Attorney Andrew Warren in Hillsborough County, which includes Tampa, "But make no mistake: This was not an ordinary 17-year-old."

Mason Sheppard, a 19-year-old from Bogner Regis, Britain who used the alias Chaewon, was charged with wire fraud and money laundering while Orlando-based Nima Fazeli, 22, nicknamed Rolex, was accused of aiding and abetting the crimes, according to a Justice Department statement.

Twitter said it appreciated the "swift actions of law enforcement."

Clark and one of the other participants were in custody, officials said.

In the hack, fraudulent tweets soliciting investments in the digital currency bitcoin were posted in mid-July by 45 verified Twitter accounts, including those belonging to Biden, former US President Barack Obama and billionaire Bill Gates. Twitter said the hackers also likely read some direct messages including to a Dutch elected official.

More than $100,000 was obtained, bitcoin's public ledger showed.

Twitter has previously said its employees were duped into sharing account credentials.

Authorities provided new details Friday in an affidavit alleging that Clark "used social engineering to convince a Twitter employee that he was a co-worker in the IT department and had the employee provide credentials to access the customer service portal."

Sheppard and Fazeli did not return emails seeking comment. An attorney for Clark could not be immediately identified. Phone calls and an email to Clark's mother were not immediately returned.

Warren said the state rather than the federal government was prosecuting Clark because Florida law enabled him to be charged as an adult.

"Groups of teens/youngsters are doing this en masse," he said by email. "It's really a national security risk."

Nokia 2.4, along with two other smartphones, may be launched at IFA 2020 scheduled for September in Berlin, a media report has said. None of them will reportedly be a flagship, and all the three phones are said to belong to either entry-level or mid-range portfolios. The Nokia 2.4 is an entry-level handset, and reportedly the other two are mid-range devices that may be called the Nokia 6.3 and the Nokia 7.3. Not much is known about these smartphones.

Citing a tipster who wished to remain anonymous, Nokiamob.net says that the Nokia 2.4 has Wolverine codename. For photography, the phone may feature a rear dual camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front could be a 5-megapixel sensor.

As mentioned, a phone with the same model name and specifications was spotted on Geekbench. The listing suggests that the ‘Wolverine' device will run on Android 10. The phone scored 136 in the single-core test and 497 in the multi-core test.

EE is launching new Smart WiFi service to boost your broadband

EE is launching a brand new Smart WiFi service to boost internet connections in the home.

The company revealed the EE Smart WiFi Router, Smart WiFi Discs and inclusive 4GEE WiFi Mini today (June 25), all of which aim to increase signal in places all around the house.

Customers can add a WiFi Disc to boost the coverage from the Smart WiFi Router – and as part of EE's plan, they can increase that number to three Discs, with each Disc supporting up to 60 devices.

The 4GEE WiFi Mini that comes as part of the plan allows access to the 4G network, and customers can take this on the go to access wifi wherever they travel, with 2GB of data a month.

Plus, if the wifi in the home goes down, EE will boost customers' data allowance through the 4GEE WiFi Mini to 250GB until the issue is resolved.

The Smart WiFi package is available on all EE fixed home broadband plans priced at £10 per month for 18 months. Existing EE pay monthly mobile customers can get a 10% discount on EE's Superfast Home Broadband plans.

Redmi 9A set to debut in the Philippines soon, catalog reveals

Redmi’s latest budget offering is tipped to launch with Helio G25 SoC and quad cameras on its rear.

A purported Xiaomi catalog for the Philippine market has revealed that the Redmi 9A could soon be released in the said region. The phone’s alleged brochure, which was spotted by a local online publication, also showed the products from the Chinese smartphone giant that are scheduled to arrive from July to August this year.

Helio G25 and 6.53-inch Dot Drop screen

Ultimately, the brochure also revealed the Redmi 9A’s key specifications, alongside a placeholder image that outed the handset’s design.

Accordingly, the Redmi 9A is set to be powered by MediaTek’s Helio G25 chipset, a processor whose CPU is clocked at 2.0GHz. The phone is also shown to feature a 6.53-inch Dot Drop display, with an HD+ resolution. The accompanying notch should house a 5MP front-facing snapper.

Around the back of the phone is a 13MP camera with an LED flash. As per the image, the device’s rear panel design will boast a Redmi logo and a blue color. The design, it seems, reflects that of the Redmi 8A.

5,000mAh battery

The catalog of the Redmi 9A also revealed that the phone would be launching with a massive 5,000mAh battery capacity. However, the brochure didn’t come with any detail on whether the phone would support fast wired charging or not.

Previous rumors suggest that the Redmi 9A would arrive, supporting a height of 164.85mm and a width of 77.07mm. A separate report also tipped that the phone would launch with support for 10W charging, which is basically the conventional way of charging at the moment. In the RAM department, the device is also pegged to launch with 3GB.

Cheaper than the regular Redmi 9

Unfortunately, the catalog did not tip any details surrounding the Redmi 9A’s official pricing. Expect the phone’s price to be cheaper than the regular Redmi 9. Currently, the Redmi 9 is priced at PHP 6,990.

Talking about the forthcoming products, Xiaomi is set to launch Mi TV Stick, which features a built-in Chromecast and Google Assistant, the Mi Outdoor Watch, and a slew of household accessories. The said watch carries a price tag of PHP 990.

Meanwhile, the POCO F2 Pro, plus the Black Shark 3 series, and the recently-minted Mi Smart Band 5 are also among the expected products to be released in the Philippines.

Microsoft Xbox Series X Price Makes Gets New Twist After Xbox Series S/Lockhart Leaked Document

A formal Microsoft document leaked about a new and more affordable version of the superior Xbox Series X to be launched. Reportedly, the gaming console might be less powerful and it will be rolled out as Xbox Series S or the Lockhart. It is rumored for a few months now and will be presented soon.

Proofs Of A New Xbox Series S Or Lockhart

A data minor under the username XB1_HexDecimal took it to Twitter to post some screenshots referring to the new Xbox Series S or Lockhart. The screenshots were from patch notes from a recent Microsoft Game Development kit. Lockhart Profiling and Anaconda Profiling are mentioned for the Dev Kits of Xbox Scarlett in the release notes, June.

Another reference comes up with a typo which says Lockhard. The language in the update is correct, as verified by Windows Central. Laptop Mag assumes that Lockhart Profiling refers to the limited memory available on the Xbox Series S or Lockhart against the Xbox Series X which is the Anaconda Profiling.

Lockhart At A Much Affordable Price

Microsoft hasn’t confirmed anything about the Lockhart. Although, some rumors about the Xbox Series S’s specifications have been floated around. It is claimed to have a capability of 4 TF compared to 12 TF power of the Xbox Series X, being restricted to 1080p but at a much reasonable price.

An interesting rumor has been in the news that the price of the Lockhart will be almost half of the X Series. The Redmond-based tech hulk could use such a strategy to penetrate the market easily. The losses will then be covered through Game Pass subscription charges and digital sales.

No official announcement is out yet even though we have insights from an official document which makes it believable about the launch or the existence of the Xbox Lockhart.
