Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 has an unorthodox position for its inner camera

Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will, allegedly, have an unusual position for the inner display camera on the right panel of the phone.

The talk of the town right now is the announcement of the news during WWDC 2020. However, the thunder might be quickly stolen from Apple with the possible August online Unpacked event. Here, Samsung will unveil a massive phone lineup that will surely catch the attention of everyone.

Samsung still hasn’t announced the official date of the Unpacked event. Nonetheless, Samsung enthusiasts are eagerly following for the saving grace of the botched Samsung Galaxy Fold phone last year.

Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 inner display

Ice Universe on Twitter showed a render of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2’s inner display. Initially, the unfolded phone looks like any other small tablet in the market. However, unlike those cameras on those tablets, the hole-punch camera setup on the alleged Galaxy Fold 2 looks a bit odd.

The inner camera is not in the middle of the screen. It is neither on the top left or the top right corner of the unfolded screen. Meanwhile, the first Galaxy Fold had a huge notch on the top right corner of the expanded screen. It housed the dual front-facing cameras and the depth sensor.

The render shows that the Galaxy Fold 2 will only have one inner camera. As such, the alleged leak of the soon-to-be-released phone must be taken with a grain of salt. It would be unusual for a company to scrimp down a camera setup considering the price point of this premium flagship phone.

Galaxy Fold 2 rumored specs

Rumors abound regarding the technical spec sheet of the Galaxy Fold 2. As such, similar to the rendered image of the inner display, the following still has to be confirmed by Samsung during its event.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will most likely have the Snapdragon 865+ SoC as its main processor. For a premium phone such as this one, cutting corners on the main driver will not be acceptable for many. Also, the processor will make the phone 5G ready when it hits the shelves.

The camera system will reportedly be similar to the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra’s set up. However, it is still not yet confirmed whether or not the Space Zoom will find its way to the Galaxy Fold 2. Since the Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to launch with the Galaxy Note 20 lineup, the former premium phone is also expected to have a built-in SPen support.</div>

Redmi 9A set to debut in the Philippines soon, catalog reveals

Redmi’s latest budget offering is tipped to launch with Helio G25 SoC and quad cameras on its rear.

A purported Xiaomi catalog for the Philippine market has revealed that the Redmi 9A could soon be released in the said region. The phone’s alleged brochure, which was spotted by a local online publication, also showed the products from the Chinese smartphone giant that are scheduled to arrive from July to August this year.

Helio G25 and 6.53-inch Dot Drop screen

Ultimately, the brochure also revealed the Redmi 9A’s key specifications, alongside a placeholder image that outed the handset’s design.

Accordingly, the Redmi 9A is set to be powered by MediaTek’s Helio G25 chipset, a processor whose CPU is clocked at 2.0GHz. The phone is also shown to feature a 6.53-inch Dot Drop display, with an HD+ resolution. The accompanying notch should house a 5MP front-facing snapper.

Around the back of the phone is a 13MP camera with an LED flash. As per the image, the device’s rear panel design will boast a Redmi logo and a blue color. The design, it seems, reflects that of the Redmi 8A.

5,000mAh battery

The catalog of the Redmi 9A also revealed that the phone would be launching with a massive 5,000mAh battery capacity. However, the brochure didn’t come with any detail on whether the phone would support fast wired charging or not.

Previous rumors suggest that the Redmi 9A would arrive, supporting a height of 164.85mm and a width of 77.07mm. A separate report also tipped that the phone would launch with support for 10W charging, which is basically the conventional way of charging at the moment. In the RAM department, the device is also pegged to launch with 3GB.

Cheaper than the regular Redmi 9

Unfortunately, the catalog did not tip any details surrounding the Redmi 9A’s official pricing. Expect the phone’s price to be cheaper than the regular Redmi 9. Currently, the Redmi 9 is priced at PHP 6,990.

Talking about the forthcoming products, Xiaomi is set to launch Mi TV Stick, which features a built-in Chromecast and Google Assistant, the Mi Outdoor Watch, and a slew of household accessories. The said watch carries a price tag of PHP 990.

Meanwhile, the POCO F2 Pro, plus the Black Shark 3 series, and the recently-minted Mi Smart Band 5 are also among the expected products to be released in the Philippines.
